Head Spinning Day.

Head spinning. That is what I woke up to this morning. My head was spinning. I am allergic to alfalfa hay. I had to go pick up some for the horses. I was sick. Sick to the point of almost throwing up.

Once my head stopped spinning, I took a very hot shower and felt a lot better. I spent the rest of the day cleaning my desk. Then I cleaned out the drawers and found that I don't have to keep a lot of the things in their. It was some papers that Rosalie gave me before she died almost 2 years ago. Now I have one completely empty drawer. Things in that dresser was all LAVFW stuff.

Now that my desk is clean and things straightened, I feel like I'm more "together". I love the feeling of being organized. Now if my hubby would feel the same way.

I like the FlyLady website a lot. I don't do my life the way she has things laid out but I use the templet to lay it all out what DOES work for me.

My neice spent the night last night. "K" and my daughter "H" are best friends. I put "H" tent up in the living room so they could camp out. I heard giggling most of the night.

I love to hear the kids play. Granted it won't be much longer until they decide they are to "old" to play anymore. Thank the Lord for grandkids. :)

How long does it take for two girls to take their showers? Ummmm...I don't remember how long it took me :-) at that age.

Rainy day here today. For April we haven't gptten a lot of rain. you know the old saying ' April showers bring May flowers' well we will be flower poor here in May.

whats up with me now?

It seems like I don't have enough hours in my day to do all the things I need to be doing. I want to work outside in the yard, but I also need to get my house back in order after we put down new flooring.

Yup, new flooring. We put down the most beautiful wood flooring. In the bathroom we put down ceremic tile which makes the little room just seem larger. The wood floors run throughout the lower floor of our home. We did put the tile in the entryway and under the wood stove so the new wood wouldn't get hot. The tile is so pretty.

Since we had to move EVERYTHING to lay the floor, things are STILL not put away where they belong. I have half a mind to just throw it all out the door....no I won't. Cost to much to replace.

I have been working hard trying to get donations for mhy Auxiliary's fund raiser which is coming up in April. During this time of economic stress we are alll in the pocketbooks are padlocked. I have been getting a little donations, just not as much as I had hoped.

I was asked to be part of the Department Membership Team. I am trying to get some of our members to pay their dues so we don't loose our membership. That is also a little difficult. Again the money issue. Some of our Auxiliaries are paying the dues for their members, and yet others will not. I have had memebrs tell me they do not want to be a member any longer and to please not call or contact them again. I say..."ok fine by me." One less person I have to contact next year.

Teaching Sunday School and loving it. Having the Lord in my life is so wonderful.

Very busy week ahead.

It is a very busy week ahead of me. I have a lot to do before I leave on my trip. I'm on my way to Jefferson City for a VFW Department meeting. It is the Winter C of A. I'm so looking forward to this trip.

I am getting ready to declutter my kitchen today. When our taxes come back I'm getting new floors throughout my downstairs. I'm also going to get new cabinets for my kitchen. I'm so excited about that too.

Need to get busy

I really need to stop playing on-line today. I should finish my laundry and do up the breakfast dishes.

My mother came over this morning. She just lives next door. it is warmer today than it has been in a long time.

So I'm outta here. God Bless.

New Year Already???

I can't believe that it is already 2010. Where has the time gone? My middle son has started driving all by himself. He also brought home information for a class ring. I can rememebr when he started Kindergarten, which seems like only last year.

I ahve been very busy. My grandchildren do not live with me anymore. That is a good thing. They are happy and healthy. I was made a grandma on the 4th again. I have a beautiful grandson.

Moving nearer to me

Maybe. It is my Mother. She lives in another state and I just learned last night that she was thinking about moving nearer to me. In actuality she wants to move NEXT door to me.

This is alright with me as my children really love to see their Grandma. They only get to see her now about once or twice a year, but if she is next door they will be able to see her all the time.

Mother has been taking care of her own mother and when she passed away she took care of her brother, as I mentioned the other day has also passed away. She needs a break from all the stress.

So I may have something I have not had since I was a very little girl. My mother living close to me. Isn't God wonderful?!

Home Blessings

Do you know the feeling of having a clean house all the time? When you walk into all of the bedrooms in the house and the beds are made and toys put away in the toy boxes. Dirty clothes in the laundry baskets, and dresser drawers closed. The feeling is wonderful.
What makes it so much more so is the fact that the children of the house has done all of these things before they left for school. The oldest still at home is 15 and the youngest is 6. How did this come to pass you may wonder. Well I have a system.
FlyLady has helped me with my daily cleaning but it seemed that I was still doing everything all by myself. So one day last month I decided that the children should also have their chores posted on the front door of the house. They can go to the door and read what they still need to do. I have it broken down into 3 different times of the day.
Before School
The children should have finished the following before leaving.
Get Dressed
Make bed
Fold pj’s and put under pillow for the night (they wear there bed clothes 2 nights in a row)
Brush hair
Brush teeth
After School
Do homework
Do their individual chores
Read
Before Bed
Pick up toys and put away
Lay out clothes for next day
Brush teeth
Braid hair ( for the girls)
Make sure book bag is ready

Since I have started this it is easier on everyone. They know that they have these things to do. Once they finish a chore they will color the square that is next to it. I will then give the kids a sticker for that “time” if all the things are done and colored in (This is for the younger kids for motivation).
This teaches the children that they are responsible for their own rooms. It also teaches them respect for other peoples things. When they have to clean their own rooms they are less apt to go into another’s room and “trash” it because they know how hard it is to keep their own clean. Responsibility is something we need to teach our children at a young age. If we do not then they will grow up thinking that they should have everything handed to them on a silver platter.
So now that I have more time to study the Word and pray I am growing much more closer to the Lord. And THAT is such a wonderful feeling!

Money Store

A few weeks ago my 4 year old son "L" asked me if we could go to the money store. I was confused as to where that really was so I told him that a "money store" didn't actually exist. He looked at me and said very plainly that it DID exist. I asked him where. He replied... Buffalo Run Casino.
Well considering that I do not gamble I was surprissed that he thought a casino was a "money store". The wonderful world of commercials on Television.

Ephesians 5:21-23.......Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.(22)Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. (23) For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body.

Submit...a hard thing to do. Why? Why is it so hard at times to submit? Is it because we as women have grown up being told that we can have it all? There was a commercial in the 70's that said.. I can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan, and never, never let you forget your a man....Cause I'm a Woman.....

There is a fine line between being a strong woman and a strong willed woman. What happened to putting someone else ahead of ourselves? The same thing that happened to the fathers out there. Women were told that they can have children and not need a man to help raise them. They are so far from the truth.

The Priests of the home

Good Morning! It is a nice day here today. The sun is shinning, the birds chirping, and the kids are awake.
I'm so thankful for the life I have. My husband is a Godly man. He is the head of my home. He is the PRIEST of our home. This is what I want to talk about today from the woman's prospective.

1 Peter 3:1 says.....Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives.

Be in subjection....What does this mean? It means that we are to give our husbands the respect he is due. his is not a subjection of being beaten under him. No! It is a subjection of loving submission. Not all men are monsters. We do not loose our poweer if we are in subjection to our husbands. In fact it grants us MORE power. How? Well...if we put the desires of our husbands before our own desires he will be more willing to listen to our desires. He will be more inclined to try to move the world to make us happy. BUT that won't happen if we first don't submit to him as the SPIRITUAL head of the home.
Women DO NOT need to be in charge of everything. IF we are truely Godly women we will lift our husbands up above ourselves and let him make the family decisions. I know this is hard in todays sociaty as we are told that we are the same as men and we have the right to take over the reigns of the home.We ahve to break this mold that has been made in the past 35 years. It is not BIBLICAL.

To be continued.........
